☕️ Sunday Morning Thoughts by Caleb Rensai
Hey there, friend.
Let’s pretend it happened: you log in, spin a few reels, and BOOM 💥— you’ve just hit a massive jackpot. We’re talking enough money to make your boss jealous and your relatives suddenly interested in your life again. Now what?
Over the years (and way too much time spent online), I’ve seen what people usually do when they hit it big — and let me tell you, it’s… interesting.
Here are the top 5 things people do when they score a big win (plus my own two cents, obviously):
🎉 1. The “I’m Outta Here” Move
First thing many people do? Quit their job. Like, immediately. One guy in the UK walked out of a factory job mid-shift after a jackpot. He didn’t even clock out. Just yelled “Bye losers!” and moonwalked out (okay, I added the moonwalk part for flair).
Reality check: As tempting as it is to go full “mic drop,” it’s probably better to take a nap first and maybe talk to a financial planner before firing your boss via text.
🏝️ 2. Booking the Vacation of the Century
Nothing says “I hit a jackpot” like boarding a plane to the Maldives or renting a yacht with a name like Spinderella. I mean, sure—pamper yourself. You earned it.
But here’s the kicker: Studies show that over 70% of big lottery winners blow through their money within 5 years. Because those umbrella drinks add up, my friend. And so do underwater hotel suites.
🛍️ 3. Shopping Sprees of Epic Proportions
Luxury cars, handbags, that fancy fridge with the touchscreen that tells you you’re out of oat milk. Suddenly, it all ends up in the cart.
I read a story about someone who bought 14 jet skis. Not a boat. Just jet skis. I don’t even know 14 people who jet ski. But okay.
🐒 4. Making “Unique” Investments
Let’s just say not every jackpot winner is Warren Buffett. Some invest in rare coins, haunted houses, or a goat yoga retreat. One dude started a backyard zoo. Spoiler: it did not go well.
Lesson: Before you buy a baby tiger, maybe buy a good accountant.
🧠 5. Having an Existential Crisis
Here’s the wild twist: after the excitement fades, many people don’t feel as happy as they expected. Some feel isolated. Others feel anxious about money they didn’t know how to manage.
One woman said she missed the thrill of hoping. “When you win everything,” she said, “you have nothing to dream about.”
Now that got me thinking. Maybe the best part of gambling isn’t winning — it’s the fun of trying, the little victories, and knowing when to call it a night (preferably before your dog starts snoring louder than your spin button clicks).
So, What Would You Do?
Me? If I hit it big, I’d probably sit in silence for 5 minutes thinking about taxes… then go buy fancy espresso pods and take a nap. My wild days of thinking slot machines are a career path are over. These days, I play for fun, not fantasy.
But seriously—if you ever do win big, promise me one thing: don’t blow it on llama farm NFTs or a gold-plated slot machine for your living room. Be cool. Think it through. Take your time.
🎰 In the meantime, I’ll keep playing my $2 spins, dreaming of that big one—and walking away with my small wins like I just hit the jackpot of common sense.
Happy Sunday, and may your coffee be strong and your reels be kind.
