Well friends, here I am—Sunday evening, laptop open, tea (okay fine, wine) in hand, and just enough energy left to write about what has truly been a wild ride with OLG this week. I don’t say this lightly: I have been on fire. 🔥
The reels were spinning, the adrenaline was pumping, and I swear at one point I thought my eyebrows were going to fly right off my face from sheer intensity. I haven’t played this long or this passionately in quite some time. OLG had me on a full-blown emotional rollercoaster. Win, near miss, bonus round, dead spin, bonus again… repeat. If you know, you know.
Now, before anyone gives me the side-eye, yes—I also managed to take care of the garden. The flowers were not neglected (although one of the tomato plants may have judged me a little for missing their 3 p.m. watering session). I was out there in the sun, clipping, watering, digging… and then right back at it on the reels, dirty gloves off and ready for another spin.
But let me be honest—it was exhausting. I mean mentally. Slots may look like a pretty, sparkly game of chance, but after hours of playing, my brain felt like it had been on a high-stakes quiz show with no commercial breaks. The tension! The anticipation! The “just one more spin” lies I told myself while the dinner sat on the stove and the laundry beeped for attention.
Still, I can’t say I regret it. There’s something satisfying about the balance I somehow struck this weekend. I got my slot fix, gave some love to the garden, and now, as I sit here reflecting, I feel strangely content. It’s not about the win or loss (although I wouldn’t say no to another big hit). It’s about doing the things I love—even the silly, sparkly, high-stress ones—in moderation and with a little grace.
Now that Sunday night is winding down, it’s time to prep for the week. I’ve got insurance work waiting, maybe a few clients to follow up with, and let’s not forget my poor study plan that’s been sipping iced tea in the corner, waiting for me to pay it some attention.
So here’s to a weekend well-spun and to a new week ahead—one where I’ll try to keep my playing to reasonable sessions, water my plants before the sun sets, and maybe even do some reading before bed (instead of watching the reels in my sleep).
